The recovery time after breast lift surgery can vary depending on your age and overall health. Mindful preparation and quality aftercare, will increase your chances of a speedy recovery. Be sure to tell your surgeon about any medications you are taking or any relevant medical conditions. They might also recommend that you abstain from using aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications before and after the procedure as it could increase your risk of bleeding.

Plan to take some time off from work and avoid strenuous activities for at least a week. Breast lift surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis and often requires that you be fully sedated. You will need to arrange to have a friend or family member drive you home and help out for a few days while you get back on your feet.

You will need to avoid eating or drinking after midnight the day before the procedure. You should dress in loose fitting clothes to help make dressing and moving easier after the breast lift.

It’s not uncommon for a small plastic tube to be inserted under the skin to help drain minor postoperative bleeding. Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis will explain to you how to properly care for it and any stitches, bandages or dressings.
