Breast Augmentation in Oakland
Breast augmentation surgery is one of the most popular of all cosmetic procedures, both in our practice and across the United States. Women who have waited years to enhance their breasts by adding volume and shape are most pleased with the instant fullness and natural results they achieve through breast augmentation.
Women choose to have breast augmentation surgery for a variety of personal reasons. Creating a well-defined hourglass figure is a motivator for many breast augmentation patients. Some women born with small breasts feel less confident and prefer a more traditionally feminine shape with fuller, firmer breasts. Other women want to restore the appearance of their breasts after pregnancy or weight loss, which can cause a reduction in size and volume. Breast augmentation is also very successful in improving symmetry for the many women born with asymmetrical breasts.
What it comes down to is this: With the help of Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis, you can take control of your body’s appearance and give yourself the body you want. You’ll get to feel the positive emotional changes that come along with improved self-confidence!
What is breast augmentation surgery?
Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis are very experienced breast augmentation surgeons. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Togba was one of the first plastic surgeons in Oakland to perform breast augmentations endoscopically.
Breast augmentations are performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. A small incision of ¾ of an inch is made in the underarm area for saline implants, or less than 2 inches in the breast crease to allow for creating a pocket for silicone implants to be placed behind the breast tissue. The pocket can be created above or below the muscle.
Types of breast implants Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis offer
Breast implants are silicone shells filled with either saline solution or silicone gel. They can be round or teardrop shaped, smooth or textured. They are available in low, medium, or high profile implants. We use implants made by the three major manufacturers: Allergan, Mentor, and Ideal Implant. During your personalized consultation, Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis will help you determine which type of implant best meets your desires and needs.
Booking a consultation with your Oakland breast augmentation surgeon
Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis want all of their patients to be pleased with their breast augmentation procedure. They have a thorough consultation with each patient in their Oakland cosmetic surgery practice so they can understand their unique aesthetic goals and ensure they all have realistic expectations for their procedure. During the appointment, Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis take precise measurements of the chest wall and breast tissue to determine the appropriate implant size for each individual. For natural results and symmetry, it is important that the size of the implants are proportioned to each patient’s shoulders, waistline, hips, and all other body features. Once the size and type of implant are determined, in order to visualize the results, patients are able to try on implants during a fitting.
Computer imaging allows you to view your results before surgery
Before making your decision to have breast augmentation and to ensure you get the implants that are right for you, Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis offer photo imaging through Crisalix, a software program that shows the “new you,” transformed with various implants styles and sizes.
Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis offer the latest technology in 3D imaging for breast augmentation. You can click on the Banner and do your own 3D imaging by taking 3 photos of yourself from the comfort of your home. Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis will show you your 3D simulation with breast implants and you will be able to access to them after the consultation.
What is the recovery period after breast augmentation surgery?
Breast augmentation patients must not lift any heavy weights after surgery—including lifting your child. Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis will give you detailed instructions on how to gradually build up strength until you are fully recovered, but most patients can return to work within a week. To help ensure a speedier recovery, Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis encourage all of their patients to engage in walking after surgery.
After recovery, Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis’s patients have experienced both an improved silhouette and improved confidence. To learn more about breast implants in Oakland, California, we invite you to contact us today.
This young woman wanted to increase the cup size of her breasts (from a B cup to a C cup) such that her breasts would be proportionate to her frame, yet still look natural nad without noticeable scars. An underarm incision performed endoscopically effectively hid the scar under her arm and the placement of the implant underneath the muscle resulted in a more natural-looking breast shape. She is very happy with how natural her C cup breasts now appear.
