The Breast Augmentation Consultation
Our consultations are very thorough and rightfully so, which is what you should expect if you are considering any surgical procedure.

On your visit, the front office administrator is the first face you will see and she will greet you with a warm welcome to the practice. Upon finishing your paper work, your patient counselor will be on hand to walk you step by step through the consultation process.

Your Meeting with Dr. Togba to Discuss Breast Augmentation
Your consultation begins with our board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Joseph Togba, who has over 30 years of breast surgery experience. As a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, he has successfully performed over 1000 breast implant surgeries, leaving many happy patients that are thrilled with their natural looking results. His attention to detail and artistry combined with science is why he was voted one of “America’s Top Surgeons” by the Consumer Research Counsel of America.

You will spend most of your consultation with Dr. Togba. Using drawings and images, he will thoroughly explain breast augmentation in great detail showing how it is performed. He has a teaching method, so you will receive all the details you need concerning the operation. If you are a little nervous, no worries, Dr. Togba actively listens to your goals and will address all of your concerns. You will also see several before and after photos of other patients that have already taken their step towards enhancement.

During your comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Togba will take measurements of your chest wall, areolas, and breast pockets, which will help determine implant sizing. For many patients, the most satisfying part of their visit is the projected appearance computer imaging photos they receive showing their breasts with their desired size and shape. This is performed by Dr. Togba through our Crisalix imaging program. You can find it on the homepage of our website: www.josephtogbamd.com. Patients take these images with them and can refer to them anytime.

Once breast implant size has been determined, your consultation would not be complete until you actually feel and try on the various implants. At this time, you will meet with the patient counselor for your implant fitting. We recommend that you wear a tee-shirt with capped sleeves and a form fitting bottom. During the fitting, it is important to see your curves. You will try on the various size range of implants discussed with Dr. Togba and evaluate the implants in relationship to the width of your shoulders, waistline, hips and buttock area to ensure that you are satisfied with the proportion and symmetry of your figure with implants. This is the exciting part for our patients. Bringing your loved one in the fitting room is completely optional.

Lastly, your patient counselor will go over your quote in great detail and discuss finance options. Keep in mind, your visit with Dr. Togba will take one hour and thirty minutes. However, by the time you are done, you will be fully knowledgeable of the breast augmentation process and ready to make an informed decision.

After the Breast Augmentation Consultation
So, where does it go from here? The next step is making your decision. After you have received all the necessary details in your consultation, you will have more confidence and a greater understanding of the procedure to make your decision. That means, you will know you are a candidate for breast augmentation, how and where the procedure is performed, the risks and complications, and the style and shape of the implants being used. You will also feel confident because you will have seen before and after photos of other patients in the practice. Having the chance to feel the implants and try them on for size, with your projected appearance computer imaging photos you can take with you, will give you the idea of what you will look like, and see if that is truly what you are striving for.

If you are ready to have your procedure, your next step is to look for a date. Keep in mind, although you look instantly great after surgery, if you have a special event, like a wedding or a planned vacation, give yourself 1 month before your big day.
