As we age, the skin around our eyes starts to slowly lose some of its elasticity. The result is the development of fine lines and wrinkles along with droopy upper eyelid skin. At the same time, it’s natural to develop unsightly fatty deposits around the eyes, especially in the lower eyelid area, which many call “eye bags.”

WHAT CAN EYELIFT SURGERY DO FOR YOU?
The eyelift procedure or Blepharoplasty available at Togba Ellis Plastic Surgery is designed to address the droop in the upper eyelids and remove excess fatty deposits in the lower eyes, restoring your youthful and alert appearance. It’s common to combine eyelift surgery with other facial procedures such as the facelift, Browlift or fat transfer for full facial rejuvenation.

HOW IS AN EYELIFT PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

During the eyelift procedure Togba Ellis Plastic Surgery will make careful incisions that follow the natural creases and contours of the skin around your eyes. This greatly reduces any noticeable scarring later on. To address lower eyelid puffiness, an incision is made along the inner aspect of the lower lid to gain access to fatty deposits under the eyes. Excess fat is removed and remaining fat is sculpted to improve the overall contour around the eyes. The incision is not visible for the lower eyelift.

Here at Togba Ellis Plastic Surgery eyelift procedures are often performed on an outpatient basis, requiring “twilight” or light IV sedation. Although you feel comfortable to walk around after surgery, you will need to arrange to have someone drive you home after your procedure.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING RECOVERY?

During recovery, you might experience minor bruising and swelling. This will naturally diminish with time, leaving you with a fresher, renewed appearance.
