At TogbaEllisPlasticSurgery, our board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Togba and Dr. Ellis, have helped many satisfied patients feel good about themselves with a renewed confidence after having a facelift surgery. There are a variety of excellent reasons to seek out a facelift, and we are briefly going to touch on them in today’s blog.

To address facial surgery, we want to note that while nonsurgical procedures are common, they don’t accomplish the same goal as a surgical lift. Yes, they can temporarily smooth lines in the face and even add fullness, but they do nothing to correct sagging skin. Facelift surgery can effectively tighten facial tissues and remove excess skin on the cheeks, jawline and chin/neck areas.

In addition, while injectable treatments can certainly reduce wrinkles along with fine lines in your face, they are still temporary fixes, unlike facelift surgery which offers much longer-lasting rejuvenating effects, especially combined with a healthy skin care regimen.

When determining the right surgical approach, our surgeons also take into account whether you want to lift only part of your face or desire overall facial rejuvenation. This may result in a combination of procedures. For example, if your goal is to tighten skin and remove wrinkles in the forehead, brow and eye areas, then having the upper and lower eyelids corrected and lifting the brows can be performed during the facelift surgery.

If you are between 40-80 years of age and appear older than you feel, you may want to consult with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons to determine if facelift surgery can recharge your life.
