Structural Fat Grafting

One of the earliest signs of facial aging is the loss of fat volume eventually resulting in a deflated look. Structural fat grafting restores volume to these regions using the patient's own fat harvested from a site where unwanted fat has accumulated such as the belly or thigh. The advantage of fat grafting over fillers such as hyaluronic acid is that the filling material comes from your own body so there is no concern of any foreign material. Much of the transplanted fat survives resulting in long term rejuvenation. The sites most commonly grafted are the lower lid/cheek region (midface), the nasolabial folds, the lips and the marionette lines. The procedure is done under local anesthesia with light sedation.

Noticeable facial swelling is present for one to two weeks dependent on the volume of grafted material. The results are most natural.
